 ion in Jesus Christ at Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church, 610 Rhode Is
 land Avenue, NE. I'm an active member of the music ministry there. Sin
 ce 1997, I've also played with the horn section of horn sections, Mo' 
 Horns. I was also an inaugural member of Darin Atwater's Soulful Symph
 ony, which partners with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. My main inf
 luences include the jazz tenor players mainly of the hard bop era: Cha
 rlie Rouse , Junior Cook and Joshua Redman. I also continue to be insp
 ired by those musicians that are using jazz in sacred contexts, includ
 ing Darin Atwater (Soulful Symphony), Dr. William E. Smith and the W.E
 .S. Group (A Jazz Mass), Tim Green (Divine Inspiration), and the music
 ian's musician, Jonathan Dubose, Jr. (Healing of the Hymns\n\nFeaturin

 nWashington DC Jazz Network\n\nThroughout the 80's George was mentored
  and performed regularly with “James Moody & Lou Donaldson”. Two o
 f the greatest saxophonist in the history of Jazz. His close associati
 on with both Moody and Donaldson led to many Local & National Live Rad
 io and Television Broadcasts as well as clubs, festivals and concert h
 alls. Johnson latest endeavors include skillfully writing lyrics to ov
 er 40 of Hank Mobley’s classic compositions. Critics are already say
 ing this is one of the most important and extensive projects to be pre
 sented to the public from the Art of Jazz Vocalese realm in many years
