 t Series for the 'serious' Jazz Lover!\n \nThe series features 'World
 -Class' Players, appearing one Sunday in July and one in August. What 
 could be more inviting than listening to the sounds of great Jazz Arti
 sts, cast out over The Hudson River, at sunset, for Free?!  On Sunday 
 August 7th we present a talented young lad, who at the age of 79 has s
 et a major precedent in the field of jazz as one of the most recorded 
 studio drummers ever. He has such record dates under his belt as Quinc
 y Jones “Walking in Space”, and spent six years as staff drummer o
 n Johnny Carson’s “The Tonight Show”. He was also Peggy Lee's Dr
 ummer, and It was while he was working with Peggy that a whole new car
 eer opened up for him; they were invited to a party and while at that 
 party someone suggested that everyone perform something else, somethin
 g other than their normal avocations. The guests were baffled by him w
 hen he got up, and recited a Shakespearean soliloquy, so from that poi
 nt on Peggy would make a point of asking him to come up to the mike an
 d sing. This was the beginning a whole new career for him that launche
 d on to the scene a new baritone voice, the likes of which had not bee
 n heard since Billy Eckstine, Arthur Prysock, Joe Williams and Johnny 
 Hartman. Jammin' is pleased to present a one-of-a-kind vocal stylist..
