 unday June 28th, 2009 at 3pm!\n\nAurell Ray generates an elegant acous
 tic tone from his guitar, and combines hard-driving swing with compell
 ing technical proficiency. His artistic vision is accessible to fans t
 hat admire Kenny Garrett, Terrance Blanchard, and other forward thinke
 rs in Jazz!\n\nGrowing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Aurell studied classica
 l guitar at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and jazz guitar unde
 r guitarist Wilbert Longmire. Moving on after high school to Boston, A
 urell worked in the Community Service Program at the New England Conse
 rvatory under the direction of Webster Lerwis. Also, he had the opport
 unity to perform with musicians such as Ricky Ford, Billy Pierce, and 
 Bill Saxon, among others. Aurell eventually migrated to New York City.
  Being a gifted player, it did not take long to begin working in the c
 ity with such jazz legends like Roy Haynes, Freddie Hubbard, Charles E
 arland, and Melba Moore. He toured and recorded with Sonny Rollins for
  four years.\n\nIn 1998, Aurell released hid debut CD \"Smile and Smil
 e Again\" on Seven Venues Records. Thid debut release featured a stell
 ar cast of internationally recognized talent such as Renee Rosnes (San
  Francisco Jazz Collective Pianist), pianist Mulgrew Miller, drummer G
 regory Hutchinson, percussionist Cyro Baptista, and more! The recordin
 g made the top 25 list on NPR's Jazz Radio Stations nationwide, and le
 d to a USA tour with Mulgrew Miller.\n\nIn 2006, Aurell began private 
 studies on guitar building and construction. Aurell is developing a pr
 ototype signature Archtop Guitar model.\n\nThe menu for the Sunday Jaz
