I don't know George. I just know of him, as a singer out of D.C. I don't get to do many road gigs these days or meet as many musicians as I use to.
Its odd but when I use to hold down a day job, I was able to work in road gigs. I think my last real out of town gig was few weeks in 2004 when I did Reno, NV. with an R&B group called, Musicole.
R&B is what I do mostly. I tried, off and on thru the years, playing Jazz with people like Gene Ludwig and John Papi, both Hammond B-3 players but my 'chops' in that genre ain't good enough for my taste. I'm love with the sax/organ/drums/guitar sound. So a few times a year, I'll book myself as a quartet/quintet (voc. - keys - drum & me and sometiimes with a bass)) and play Jazz and Standards that I really love. I think I'd do more but the dates and venues just aren't there for me.
I've always been able to play more dates and make more money backing the 'Oldie' shows and groups and playing some Blues gigs. I was out with Shirley King (B.B. Kings daughter). Her dates were far and few....then. Now I'm in a position to take dates like that, if they came my way.
I've been retired now from my day job, for seven years but as things stand, I don't get the right kind of calls to go do an out of town gig. As a result, I don't get to meet musicians, especially true organ players like yourself, face to face.
Good day, I picked interest in you after going through your short profile and demanding it is necessary for me to write to you immediately. I have something very important to discuss with you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site.Could you please get back to me on (ronmorri01@gmail.com) for full details Best regards, Ronald Morris.
