Kevin Amos is the Pittsburgh Area Coordinator for Soul-Patrol.com. He is also the producer and host of “One to One” on 88.3 WRCT-FM (www.wrct.org) in addition to being the Blues and Reggae Genre director.

Kevin is also the founder of the Black Music Education Project, a non-profit entity he has run for over 20 years.

His professional career spans 30+ years in the field of broadcasting.He has logged well over 30,000 hours on non-commercial radio as a volunteer and a independent radio producer since 1978!! He also was on air at WDUQ as an alternatining host on Jazz Now.

Kevin has produced music programs and talk radio at WCXJ-AM, where he also was music director.He has been a music director on commercial and non-commercial radio!

A producer of the top rated morning show in the Pittsburgh market at FM1047 the Beat (Clear Channel), and was the producer of Pittsburgh's first live interactive sports show with the Champions Association.
He is also the former program director/station manager of WYEP-FM(1978-1984).

Kevin currently works for SLB Radio Productions (www.slbradio.org) with their education component.
He also produces events and does media and non-profit consulting.

Kevin is the former Communications Director at the Thomas Merton Center (June 2007-Feb.2008).The center is a long established peace and justice organization. He helped get the organization out of a crucial financial crisis and raised over $100,000 during his tenure while also providing financial management to the organization.
He has proven fundraising skills and has sucessfully created partnerships with corporate and community sources down through the years.

He was also formerly employed as Program Coordinator for the City of Pittsburgh at CITIPARKS in the Office of Special Events and Community Affairs. There he was part of a team that planned and coordinated events like the Great Race, the Great Ride and Fouth of July celebrations.He was also the lead coordiator for Reservoir of Jazz and African American History Month activities. Kevin also curated the exhibit "Our Musical Legacy" while at CITIPARKS.He had worked in that office from 2001-2007 where he provided many opportunies for musicians and provided crucial outreach to the community.

Kevin has also contributed to the Internet as a cyber journalist for the Music Bulletin Board on Prodigy Internet Services ( Jazz and World Music) and Soul-Patrol.com, the world’s largest independent Black music Web site. Kevin is a very active participant on the Soul Patrol site and hosts many of the Jazz programs there.
He is also a freelance writer for the New Pittsburgh Courier, one of the oldest Black newspapers in the country.

Kevin has promoted Jazz over the years by providing time on the air, participating and moderating online as well as offline in various fourms, interviewing numerous musicians, and by providing opportunities for ALL musicians to perform not just a select few.

Yes, Kevin remains to be outspoken when it comes to promoting music and is still one of the most creative people on the airwaves.
