Deryle Thomas Holmes was born in Central Georgia, moved to Dover Delaware, via service in The USAF, has lived in Los Angeles, Zephyrhills FL, Colorado Springs CO, Boston,Cambridge and Brookine Ma. Attended The School of Contemporary Music, UMASS/Boston, Berklee College of Music and Cal/Arts School of Performing Arts @ Valencia, Ca. He has performed throughout the United States under the names; "Deryle Windflight" and "Future Primitive".. Deryle has performed with Steel Pan Drummer/ Percussionist,Keyboardist Bryan Parris's Nuclear Rhythm Orchestra and Foreign Policy, Guitarist Ottmar Liebert, Drummer Marque ("Inna'most") Gilmore / Drummer Percussionist Michael Pievac,Orchestral Percussionist / Drummers Jason Currin, Dan Potruch,The Living Theater,Guitarist David Gilmore. he has released three CDs under his own label Windflight Music Media, Deryle is currently working on his fourth Indie release,Illness put him on hold for a while, but he will soon perform and is recording again in 2018-2019, in which, he will return to his Fusion/ World Music roots. In his words: "Fusion is still an untapped resource in Modern World and American Electric Music", My music is not Jazz as the term is traditionally understood, it is a hybrid of all the music that has shaped me as a spirit human being, I hope folks will listen and hear me; I love history, but movement and change is as essential to life as breathing or our heartbeats".There are some excellent "Jazz" Musicians, that have put in a lot of years perfecting what they do, I was born in an era of electronically bent music, and I am a proud member of that movement, I don't interpret , I play myself, with the joy of a child and hope the listeners, enjoy it as much as I do!! The 21st Century is an open canvas for some radical changes, the sonic landscapes are as diverse as ever. I am excited to be alive during this era. Stay tuned, the future is a blank canvas, on which every artist should create as if it's our last days on Earth. Music is an Open Sky !! I will be performing live very soon, after an extended illness, I am healed and filled with the energy and guidance of The Most High, Please stay tuned, my wings are fine, my sea legs are still a bite wobbly, all activity moves within the boundless progression of The Most High !!
