Tell us about yourself: Born on 17 July 1975 in Bellinzona, Switzerland, Max followed in the footsteps of his father, a renowned multi-instrumentalist.
After having graduated in music from the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland) in 1994, where he studied with Massimo Gaia, Ermanno Briner, Paul Glass, and Fabio Dicasola, he trained as assistant sound engineer at the American Clavé in Cologne, Germany (1994).
During his stay in the United States, he also took part in workshops held by various prominent artists, including Vinnie Colaiuta, Jerry Bergonzi, Ralph Towner, and Kenny Werner.
He is also a busy music instructor and has taught at several schools, including ATMM (Locarno, 1998-2001), SmuM and NSMB (Losone-Balerna 2001-2004), Switzerland.
In 2004, in collaboration with Tetraktys Music, he founded the Centro Studi e Ricerca Musicale (CSRM), and his indipendent label in Switzerland, which promotes and realizes a variety of recording projects, and holds Jazz and Contemporary music courses and workshops.
