Soprano, Tenor saxes, flute and some bass and percussion.
Who influenced you to listen to jazz
Grew up with jazz! My mother's brother Arthur 'Ditty' Potter roomed with Red Foxx in the 40s and played with Dinah Washington and others from Sammy Davis' band. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 85, so Harrisburg Pa. was a minor stop on the chitlin circuit and thriving up to the 70s.
Since '66 played woodwinds and some bass in funk, gospel then jazz and fusion settings. Community musician doing what was necessary ( weddings, parties, black history etc.). Mainly in the Harrisburg, Pa area, a second generation performer. My uncle the late Ditty Potter was a Dexter Gordon tenorman who roomed with Red Foxx in NYC in the 40s. Played some in DC- Balt area in a funk band on the 70s called 21st Century in '74. Attended Pitt for engineering and practiced and studied straight ahead and fusion '75 to '80.Today I still practice and study and look to a larger venue to play blues, jazz, acoustic or whatever.
Found out there is a small venue in Riverdale/New Carollton area that features Buck Hill once a month. Will have to check him out since this seems to be an intimate setting and not an over crowded concert hall. He is up in years but they say he is playing strong!

Hi Kevin, thanks for your message and appreciation of the music. If you want any charts to play, we can work it out. I like folks to play my music. Thanks for connecting and I will check yours out as well.
