Tell us about yourself
I am primarily a nylon-string guitarist, but I also play basscello through digital signal processors and a variety of digitally-processed, non-traditional analog instruments such as bowls, rainsticks, slidewhistle, whistle-flutes, oceanharp, etc. I began my study of the guitar in Chile and Uruguay (the latter under the guidance of Luis Acosta), and continued upon my return to the U.S. in the early 1960s under Sophocles Papas (classical guitar) and Frank Mullen (jazz guitar). Beginning in 1999, I've been studying improvisation under the mentorship of David Darling. Currently, I regularly play experimental music in the Baltimore / Washington DC area as part of the Lost Civilizations experimental music project (http://lost-civilizations.tumblr.com/).
