Who influenced you to listen to jazz: A guy named Chuck I met my freshman year of college and a partner in crime named Ben Buckwald who I've known my entire life and studied jazz at Tulane and Rutgers.
How did you find out about the WDCJN?: I looked up information on a favorite DJ, Chandy Shannon, WPFW.

Tell us about yourself: I've visited about 45 countries and live in eight of them. My son is musician, not professional but fairly accomplished, I like to think I had something to do with that. Love Miles, Keith Jarret, John Mayall (with Blue Mitchell and Freddie Robinson band), Zappa and women who sing (Rene Marie, Joni Mitchell, Eva Cassidy, Nina Simone, Bill Holiday, Phoebe Snow). I listen to WPFW programming from the night before while I work. (They do political programming during the day and the music at night.) I have an interest in covers, especially jazz renditions of pop songs, so I have various versions of the same song by different performers. In addition to jazz, I listen to classical almost daily and have soft spot in my heart for soul, especially Motown. I don't get out to hear live music as often as I'd like.
