George,
Thank you for your impressive E-mail message and the enclosed photographs. It was great meeting you and hearing you in Israel. Though you had a comforting job and an abundance of security as a conductor with The New Jersey Transit, it's obvious your heart lies within the existing realm of the music we lovingly call jazz. Few of us will ever get rich by engaging in this pursuit, but our hearts will be overrun with joy and satisfaction for having done it. Time cannot be so cruel as to keep us apart indefinitely. So, onward and upward as we chase our dreams with a votive and determined effort, in spite of all else, with an inelluctable spirit of success concerning our proleptic tomorrows. We have no choice but to HIT IT over and over again at every opportunity as faithful visionaries letting no one or anything get in our way.
Noblesse Oblige,
Benny

"The Sentiquential Musician, Composer, Arranger of Modern Times"
I'm most appreciative of this very comprehensive "blog', put together by the very talented Mr. George V. Johnson Jr. In fact, it is more than a "blog" to me; it almost reads like my professional life history in music. It is very thorough, and professional. I recommend every musician, who is interested in marketing, and promoting him or herself, contact Mr. Johnson and the Washington D.C. Jazz Network.

Hello George, I am proud to be a member of the Washington DC Jazz Network (WDJN).
I am able to find out what's going on in town and on the east coast
and to network with other musicians. I get a lot of my news from the emails I receive from WJN.
I also would like to thank you for supporting the Jazz
program at Howard University in Washington, DC. Keep up the great work.~~~Fred Irby

George, thank you and thank GOD for blessing you with insight to create WDCJN! The Network has been my connection to the greatest Jazz Legends alive today and Emerging Jazz Icons. Many of whom I've met and collaborated with over the last 3 yrs after our introduction. Its a Wonderful thing when Creativity collides with History, Experience and Cosmic Energy and that's exactly the vortex you've created with the WDCJN. Keep letting your light Shine Brother,......... Keep letting it SHINE~~~Lou

A saxophonist, composer, producer and educator, Bobby Watson grew up in Kansas City, Kansas. He trained formally at the University of Miami, and he proceeded to earn his doctorate on the bandstand -- as musical director of Art Blakeys Jazz Messengers. After completing his tenure as a Jazz Messenger (1977-1981), the gifted Watson became a much-sought after musician, working along the way with drummers Max Roach and Louis Hayes, fellow saxophonists George Coleman and Branford Marsalis, celebrated multi-instrumentalist Sam Rivers and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis who joined the Jazz Messengers at least in part at the suggestion of Watson. All told, Bobby Watson, the immensely talented and now seasoned veteran has some 26 recordings as a leader.
