ABOUT
Hailing from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Ray La’ Mar is not just a musician; he is a storyteller, a guide through the intricate realms of love and emotion. Ray La’ Mar’s musical journey started at a young age, hosting jam sessions for family and friends. However, it was witnessing Melba Moore’s powerful performance in “Momma I Wanna Sing” that ignited the spark. From that moment, Ray La’ Mar knew that music was his true calling, a realization that would shape his destiny.
Singing in church choirs and joining the male chorus with his father, Ray La’ Mar’s journey took an unexpected turn when he started singing with “Young Musicians for Christ” (YMC). The experiences with YMC, traveling and sharing musical gifts as a teenager, broadened his horizons. Although he initially considered himself a drummer, singing and playing the piano became integral parts of his musical identity.
In his later years, Ray La’ Mar discovered that his purpose in life extended beyond the confines of the church. His mission is to guide others through a discovery or reunion of love, creating an experience through music. This revelation transformed him into a versatile artist who has headlined with renowned bands, opened for and performed with acts like Angie Stone and Average White Band, and contributed his talents to various projects.
