Howard Alden & Jeanne Gies

Howard Alden

"He may be the best of his generation," writes Owen Cordle in JazzTimes. George Kanzler of the Newark Star Ledger proclaims that he is "the most impressive and creative member of a new generation of jazz guitarists." And Chip Deffaa of the New York Post observes that he is "...one of the very finest young guitarists working today." It seems that the only thing regarding Howard Alden on which the critics have debate is whether the remarkable jazz guitarist is one of the best or simply the best.

WDCJN benefits JAZZ because it helps to inform folks about those who truly represent the essence of the music. Jazz is the excuse for those who are creative to be who they are as opposed to being someone else despite influences. During this day an age, Leaders are needed more then ever and not followers. Jazz helps to promote this among the few that step out of the box in one form or fashion. Popularity doesn't always equal artistic endeavors. In fact those who seek popularity while hiding behind others artistic accomplishments are actually doing a de service to themselves and the music called Jazz. It 's often not pleasurable to witness or hear to those of us who are just trying to be part of a mob of non creative or progressive thinkers with no testicular fortitude. Politics has no place in art and WDCJN helps to bridge the gap by exposing those from the real age of Jazz before method books and transcribing software~~~Mark Mosley

George, thank you and thank GOD for blessing you with insight to create WDCJN!   The Network has been my connection to the greatest Jazz Legends alive today and Emerging Jazz Icons.  Many of whom I've met and collaborated with over the last 3 yrs after our introduction.  Its a Wonderful thing when Creativity collides with History, Experience and Cosmic Energy and that's exactly the vortex you've created with the WDCJN.  Keep letting your light Shine Brother, Keep letting it SHINE~~~Lou
